The Roots HD live

At The Roots, we are the album collection you wish you still owned. If you grew up listening to the radio in the late 1960s and 70s, you remember listening to entire albums because the deep tracks were the songs you connected with. Not the overplayed hits that ended up on Top 40 and Classic Rock stations. We dig deep into our collection of over 30,000 vinyl LPs and CDs to find those deep tracks you never seem to hear anymore. Take a trip back to the first generation of Album Rock. Our DJs were there when it all started, broadcasting on St. Louis and Los Angeles stations.

At The Roots, we go much deeper with custom one-hour music documentaries. We focus on specific artists and styles of music, many from outside the traditional bounds of album rock. On Friday evenings, we present a two-hour Jam Band Show. We feature recordings from the top touring bands unavailable in most record stores. On Thursday evening, Jake's Leg, the oldest continuously performing Grateful Dead Tribute band, featuring their covers of Dead tunes recorded over the past thirty years. You will also hear classic live recordings from The Dead store that are unavailable in retail stores.
