In this encouraging message, Pastor Doug shares “Power for Persevering Patience,” reminding us that while some face visible disabilities and others carry hidden burdens, we all need God’s strength to endure. Drawing from Scripture and personal experience—especially the story of his brother Falcon’s lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis—he shows how God can use pressure with purpose, build perseverance through a process, teach patience through waiting, and call us to run the race with endurance by laying aside sin and unnecessary weights. The sermon points to the evidence of faith through steadfastness, urges us not to quit when trials are long, and lifts our eyes to the ultimate prize: the crown of life and the promise that in God’s kingdom every disability will be healed and every believer made whole.

Pastor Doug reframes church as far more than a building or a weekly habit—it’s God’s designed community for growth, mission, protection, love-in-action, and preparation for Christ’s return. If you’ve ever thought, “I’m a Christian, I just don’t need church,” or you’ve been tempted to pull away because of imperfect people, this sermon makes a compelling, practical case for why belonging isn’t optional—and why the church might be exactly what you need right now.

Discover why the disciples looked at Jesus and asked, “Lord, teach us to pray.” In this message from the Teach Us to Pray series, Pastor Doug makes prayer feel less intimidating and far more life-changing—showing how it can calm anxiety, deepen your relationship with God, and even reshape the “look” of your life from the inside out.

But Then They Prayed is a powerful reminder that prayer can change the course of any situation. When challenges feel overwhelming and hope seems distant, turning to God in sincere prayer invites His peace, guidance, and life-changing power into our lives.

In this New Year Sabbath message, Pastor Doug opens Scripture to explain that while there is no mythical “angel of death,” the Bible does describe angels of judgment under God’s authority—and the good news is that God provides a way to be spared.

There are many mentions in the Bible of scents. Incense in the Bible represents ascending prayers. Sacrifices were referred to having a sweet smell. When we are willing to deny ourselves for Christ it is a sweet smelling sacrifice. Before His death, Jesus was anointed with fragrant oil.
